The nature park Fannes-Sennes-Braies is located in the south of the valley Pusteria. Here we find also the magnificent lake Braies with its almost unnatural blue shining lake which creates an almost surreal atmosphere. In the area of the Dolomites near to Sesto, which confines the Valley Pusteria in the south, there are also wonderful hiking trails. This area is also known for its historical importance, because this is where the 1st World war was fought. You might also enjoy the panoramic view while sitting outside an alpine cabin.

Biking through the Italian Dolomites

There is also the possibility to bike to the Austrian border and to cross it. Along the bike lanes are rest houses, where you can chill, rest and make use of services like bike rentals. The bike lanes are also access points to the nature parks of the area.
Mountain biking has become more and more important in South Tyrol. There are numerous forest card and fire roads which are leading into the heart of the Dolomites, and guiding the visitors to breath-taking panoramic views.
