Stages of a success story

The history of Golf Club Pustertal has begun in 1993. Between the former 4-hole course and today’s facilities, there were changes of the location and name, adjustments and expansions, which are worth seeing.

1993 – 1997

In 1993, several passionate golfers screwed up their courage and finally, 55 interested persons met and founded the golf club in Reischach under the name “Golf Club Kronplatz”. Soon after, a 4-hole course Par 12 with 4 Par 3 holes was built on the areal of the Kronplatz lift facilities. In 1994, it was accepted by the Italian Golf Federation and since then, the golf club is a “campo promozionale affiliato”.

1998 – 2003

After several years with steady increase in membership, it was decided to search for a new location for a larger course. It was found a new terrain near Harrasser farm next to the Reiperting sports area in Reischach. The new 6-hole short course (Par 21m, 1.288 m), the driving range, the pitching and putting green were an ideal training ground and optimal for countless tournaments too. From the beginning, youth promotion has played a big role, and, in the following period, great successes were achieved.

2004 – 2005

In spring 2004, there was the first great success: The installation of the first 9 holes of the planned 18-hole large-scale course “Kronplatz”. Due to the construction works, the existing course was reduced to 4 holes for a short time.

From July 2005

In summer 2005, the new 9-hole course Par 34, 2.800 m in the Reiperting sports area was released for play. Along with the reopening, the golf club change its name into “Golf Club Pustertal”. The golf school – since 2012 with golf pro Antonio Saragnese – teaches golf to newcomers. Simultaneously, there is a full tournament calendar during the entire season.

The Golf Club Pustertal, one of the major shareholders of the construction and operating company Golframa GmbH, actively participates in the upcoming enlargement of the golf course to 18 holes. Therefore, the executive board and the members are looking into the future well-prepared and confidently.
